Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They started out as a small machine shop initially employing 4 individuals. Product sales for their first year of operation totaled sixty thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless steel valves, pipe fittings and various components. Through five years of operation, the company had expanded to 40 workers and their yearly sales volume had risen to 330 thousand dollars. These days, Cascade is one of the top international producers in the material handling industry.
Manufacture and design of the company's original hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive quest of new business opportunities. During the last sixty years, the material handling trade has matured into a highly sophisticated field and Cascade has proudly performed a part on this development. Cascade currently continues to grow as the best supplier of forklift attachments and various associated items. The company feels confident in their potential in order to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining aggressive in the global market.
Throughout the 1950's, Cascade started to fabricate, design, and advertise its hydraulic accessories. A new facility was constructed in 1956, in order to accommodate all of the plant operations and offices in Portland, Oregon, which remains to be the company's present head office. Following fifteen years of business, total staff reached a hundred and eighty employees and sales had reached nearly two million three hundred thousand dollars.
In the year 1959 in Springfield, McAllen a second production plant was built. The year 1960 marked Cascade's initial transfer into the global world of the material handling industry when the business established interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
In 1964, the business altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. After that in 1965, the company went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Ever since then the business has expanded its manufacturing services within the continental USA to the areas Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already current plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, McAllen. Cascade merchandise are manufactured worldwide because of a lot of subsidiary operations. In 1994, a brand new facility was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This plant is built to be the essential customer support centre.
Continuing to develop, Cascade expanded their product offering further in the year 1996 and 1997 with the dramatic acquisition of 5 companies, together with the international best in forks, the Kenhar Corporation.
